Rachel Conner, AGNP, IFMCP

In 2005, I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler and then relocated to Dallas to start my nursing career at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in the Coronary Care Unit.  During this time, I witnessed first hand the heart breaking complications of chronic disease. As I continued my career working for multiple ambulatory surgery centers, I couldn’t help but notice the multitude of medications patients were taking to treat these chronic diseases. This sparked my desire to help people on a deeper level and to focus my attention on disease prevention.

In 2018, I received a Master of Science in Nursing and became a Board Certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.  Once again, chronic disease presented in the majority of my patients.  Not only did it affect their daily lives, but those around them.  Patients were still suffering despite conventional diagnosis and treatment.

As I began searching for answers, I was led to the Institute of Functional Medicine.  Finally, a new perspective to preventing and treating dysfunction in the body.  Functional medicine uses a multimodal, evidence-based approach, supporting each body system to optimize health.  I have completed the certification program through the Institute of Functional Medicine and now have a better understanding of the body’s capability to heal itself.

I am extremely passionate about helping those with cardiometabolic and thyroid dysfunction, as these have affected so many close to me. I truly desire to help others on their path to wellness so they can live a vibrant, joyful life. Please know that there is hope and you deserve to reclaim your health!
